IS APPLE’S IPHONE XR THE BEST VALUE IPHONE AROUND?

There are three new 2018 iPhones and the iPhone XR, cheapest of the trio, could be the one to buy.

Available from $1,229 and on sale now, the 6.1-inch XR lacks the big screen impact of the 6.5-inch, $1,799 XS Max, and the OLED colours, display detail and dual rear camera of both the XS Max and 5.8-inch, $1,629 XS. In other ways, however, it matches up to its pricier brethren, and the Liquid Retina screen is the best LCD on the market.

All three of the new iPhone models come with the same storage options (64GB, 128GB or 256GB), all feature wireless charging, all are waterproof and, perhaps most significantly, all are powered by the same scorchingly powerful 7 Nanometre A12 Bionic chip.

If you’re concerned with multi-tasking, running the most demanding apps or purely general responsiveness and speed, on paper, and in practice, the XR is just as capable as the more expensive models.

Not only that, but according to Apple’s figures and lots of recent tests, it offers a longer battery life than the XS or XS Max. In fact, according to reports, it has the best usable battery life of almost any smartphone on the market.

GadgetNET says: The XR might not offer the eye-popping resolution and OLED punch of the XS and XS Max and you lose the telephoto lens, but it delivers a winning trade-off between power and price that makes it the best value among the new iPhone models. We love the extra long battery life! Plus, check out all the gorgeous colour finishes…
