DENON ANNOUNCES HEOS AV RECEIVER
Take Denon, one of the largest audio-visual brands in the world and add a multiroom audio and streaming sub-brand; HEOS. Then, shoehorn that new tech back into their AV Receivers. Put it all together and you now have a product that threatens to redefine home entertainment. Welcome, the HEOS AVR from Denon.
If you've ever gone through the headaches of setting up an AV Receiver, configuring speakers, zones, inputs and more, you'll welcome the simplicity that comes with Denon HEOS' new AVR.
Not only will the HEOS AVR be the hub of your home entertainment system, it's also the hub of your whole-home wireless audio solution when combined with other HEOS products.
A 5.1 surround receiver, they've done away with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, opting instead to keep it simple, but ample for the average living room.
A built-in Class D amplifier rated at 50w per channel will take care of wired surround speakers in the immediate area, or you can simply pair up HEOS speakers wirelessly. And wireless is what HEOS is all about, from Bluetooth streaming to supporting lossless formats including WAV, FLAC, and ALAC, HEOS AVR simply can do. And where Sonos falls short with high-resolution audio, HEOS supports DSD up to 5.6 MHz.
There's four HDMI inputs which support emerging 4K Ultra HD and High Dynamic Range content. Add a Fetch box, Apple TV or gaming console and you're good to go.
If you've been looking for a simple yet highly capable AVR without all the wires, have no need for tens of speakers and channels, then the HEOS AVR finished beautifully in sculptured aluminium is the perfect hub to sit pride of place in the lounge room.
The Denon HEOS AVR will be available from April with pricing expected to be between $1300 and $1500 RRP.
