ELON MUSK WANTS TO SELL YOU A FLAMETHROWER

There's nothing boring about a flamethrower. Elon Musk has already sold more than 10,000 units and pocketed a cool USD 5Million over the weekend.

Branded with the name of his underground tunneling business, The Boring Company, the Flamethrower is already causing its fair share of spot fires.

The Flamethrower is apparently not legal to import into many countries around the world. The Boring Company even state on its website:

Additional customs fees may apply for international orders because of laws. International customers can receive a full refund if not happy with said fees. Before shipping, aspiring flamethrower aficionados will be sent a terms and conditions rhyme for review and acceptance.

Another roadblock comes in the form of a Californian legislation change introduced purely to stop Musk from selling the device,  at least in California.

California politician Miguel Santiago said in a statement:

Like most Americans, I am in awe in of Mr. Musk’s genius — the brains behind Tesla, PayPal, SolarCity, and Space X. But as President Truman and Stan Lee have taught us all, ‘With great power comes great responsibility.’ There are many times in which technology and inventions benefit society, but are not made available to the public. We don’t allow people to walk in off the street and purchase military-grade tanks or armor-piercing ammunition. I cannot even begin to imagine the problems a flamethrower would cause firefighters and police officers alike.

Musk reportedly raised USD 1Million from selling almost 50,000 plainly branded The Boring Company hats at $20 each late in 2017.

When news first broke of The Flamethrower, some commentators dismissed it as a joke, but if we know anything about Elon Musk by now, its that he follows through with his promises.

There's also an optional fire extinguisher companion that can be purchased with The Flamethrower. The Boring Company openly states that it's overpriced though at $30 USD. Still, both items are very likely to appreciate in price as collector's items, so our advice is, option it!

You can pre-order The Flamethrower right now for $500 USD, with shipping advertised for "Spring." Locally, that's sometime between March-May.

GadgetNET says: There's no chance Aussie border security is going to let this one through. It's a shame, as it would be great for lighting the barbie with!
