THE FORMULA E GEN2 CAR IS ELECTRIFYING

If your idea of the ultimate electric car is a Tesla Model S, wait until your peepers take a bead on the GEN2 Formula E Car.
While the physical car will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show on March 6th, 2018, images released this week presage an electric car like no other.
Getting the GEN2 ready to hit the grid in 2018, it took a whole lot of people and places to pool their efforts and resources.
In fact, its taken four years and one all-electric racing series along with 36 races, 20 drivers, 13 cities, ten teams and four continents to arrive at the techno-brilliance that is the GEN2 formula car.
The car has been designed to survive the next three gruelling seasons. A hurdle it should navigate with ease thanks to its doubling of the energy storage capacity and doubling the range of the existing Formula E car.
Formula E Founder and CEO Alejandro Agag has no qualms about describing the GEN2 car as representing the future of racing.
He says:
When we started Formula E, our goal was to break the mould and challenge the status quo-brining a revolution to motorsport. This next generation car represents that revolution.
The GEN2 car has some unique features, and chief amongst them is the eye-arresting halo, which is a safety device over the driver’s head. Halo will be used in Formula 1 as well as Formula E racers.
The overall styling of the new car will also divide opinions thanks to its generous use of zany angles on the bodywork developed to reduce drag and provide superior cornering speeds.
The GEN2 will rocket around the grid throughout the 2018/19 season commencing later this year.
Spectators won’t fail to notice its revolutionary body profile that harbours a long list of technical advancements under its skin. These include a more sophisticated powertrain courtesy of the leaps made by the current batch of batteries and electric motor technologies.
When the GEN2 Formula E car makes its debut on the grid, it will carry the hopes of Formula E racing with it. Judging by the calibre of this second-gen rocket racer, this future is assured.
