ULTIMATE EARS WONDERBOOM IS A LITTLE BIG SPEAKER
The latest in a long line of audio gear boasting good sound and great styling is Ultimate Ears' WONDERBOOM Freestyle portable speaker range.
The new range is big on style and features three distinctive finishes: Concrete, Avocado and Unicorn.
UE describes Concrete as an everyday look, neutral but never basic. Concrete is inspired by urban texture, paint splashes and shadows.
Moving on to Avocado and we’re told this finish is subtle and understated. And Unicorn refers to a mythic creature, so it’s a magic finish.
Charlotte Johs, general manager of Ultimate Ears wasn’t holding back the superlatives.
The new collection is all about expressing yourself. You curate your playlist and personal style - why not have a speaker that reflects that style too. WONDERBOOM Freestyle Collection gives you big sound and the freedom to express your style in a trendy, tough and tiny speaker.
The new speakers are said to have 360-degree sound. They’re also waterproof in up to a meter of water for 30 minutes.
And while we wouldn’t for a moment suggest you hurl a WONDERBOOM Freestyle from the top of a mobile phone tower, rest assured they’d survive a fall of up to five feet, we're told.
Unusual for any portable speaker, WONDERBOOM also floats. Makes you wonder just who is the target market - water polo players, professional divers who love music, or what?
Feature-wise, the latest UE releases have a top-mounted button that lets you control your linked smart device and to add up to two WONDERBOOM Freestyle speakers. Stereo anyone?
Finally, the latest wonder from Ultimate Ears also features a convenient hanging loop so they can attach to any bag, plus 120-hour battery life. With a Bluetooth range of up to 100-feet, it's the perfect companion for the beach, a pool party or a day outdoors.
The Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM Freestyle Collection is available now for $129.95 RRP.
